1994 Deering Golden Era
Deering's Golden Era is their version of the G****n Earl Scruggs model, though it does not have an inlay at the 1st fret. It has a similar "hearts and flowers" inlay and is generally of the same construction.
This 1994 model has a brand new head on it, and comes equipped with Keith brand D tuners. Other than some crazing of the finish on the resonator, this banjo is in excellent condition.
With hardshell case, it's consigned here at $2250.

The ebony-overlain, "double cut" peghead has the famous "hearts and flowers" inlay.
| |
It has two of its original Deering branded tuners as well as a pair of Keith brand D tuners (he invented the things!), a $200 value. (The serial number has been smudged in the photo to foil scammers.)

The maple neck is highly flamed and has a beautiful burst finish.

The bound ebony fingerboard has the well known "hearts and flowers" inlay, and virtually no fret wear.
The maple resonator is also highly flamed. There is some crazing of the finish on the resonator (though none on the neck).
It's set up with a brand new Deering-branded Remo head and a Kerschner tailpiece.

This banjo is in really good shape for its age, and is a great player!
