Used Cedar Mountain FH1S open back

Used Cedar Mountain FH1S 12-inch Cedar Mountain banjos are built in the North Carolina Appalachians by Lo Gordon, and are renowned for their exquisite beauty and playability.

This one has the features of his FH1 model, having a slightly shorter scale and narrower fingerboard (24-5/8 inch x 1-5/16 inch) than some of his other models, combined with the unadorned simplicity of his "S" model. Its beauty comes strictly from the gorgeous woods!

This example is in great condition, having only a couple of tiny marks to indicate that it's not brand new!

With a TKL "Professional" hardshell case, it's consigned here at only $1600.

Used Cedar Mountain FH1S 12-inch peghead The peghead is small and simple, with a very handsome rosewood overlay.          Used Cedar Mountain FH1S 12-inch tuners The peghead's tuners were upgraded to 5-Star brand planetaries with ebony buttons.
Used Cedar Mountain FH1S 12-inch back Its mahogany neck and rosewood pot are stained a matching hue.
Used Cedar Mountain FH1S 12-inch fingerboard The scooped rosewood fingerboard is unadorned so that the beauty of the wood shows through. Don't worry, though, there are side marked dots, so you'll know where you are!
Used Cedar Mountain FH1S 12-inch heel The metal bits are nickel-plated, and as you can see, the banjo has a "Dobson" style heel.          Used Cedar Mountain FH1S 12-inch stick The 12 inch pot is made of rosewood blocks, and is topped by a rolled brass tone ring.
Used Cedar Mountain FH1S 12-inch head It's set up with a Renaissance brand head and a No-Knot tailpiece for a deep, plunky tone.          Used Cedar Mountain FH1S neck The 3-piece neck is predominantly mahogany, and the ebony center piece is nicely set off by the ebony tuning pegs' buttons.
